Очень короткие введения - The Very Short Introductions - это книги издательства Оксфордского университета. Серия издается с 1995 года. Каждая книга в серии предлагает краткий, но убедительный вводный курс по определенной теме. В большинстве книг от 100 до 150 страниц сжатой информации. Многие книги дополняются аудио версиями для более экстренного восприятия материала с помощью любого проигрывателя mp3. По состоянию на октябрь 2010 года в серии насчитывается более 250 наименований. Издатель утверждает, что серия будет включать в себя все основные академические дисциплины. Коммерческий успех серии VSI чрезвычаен. The Very Short Introductions series -
VSI series - is a book series published by the
Oxford University Press publishing house since 1995. Each book in the series
offers a concise yet cogent introduction to a particular subject. Written by
acknowledged experts, most books are between 100–150 pages and contain
suggestions for further reading. Authors often present personal viewpoints,
but each introduction is intended to be balanced and complete
in 2010. Many of the books were commissioned explicitly for the series, but a number had previously been published by OUP. | |||
